For this project, I was tasked with creating an animation that utilised kinetic typography. I chose a song from one of my favourite artists 'Muse' to animate the lyrics to, as this made the process of timing the motion easier. I chose two fonts to use in this project. The first being 'Alexandria' as this font is clean and easy to read. I also chose a font named '28 Days Later' to use for a particular phrase in the song to make it stand out in the animation. For the process of animating, I imported the song into after effects and made the waveform visible. This way, I could slowly go through the song and mark the starts of words and beats so that the timing for the typography would match the audio. After marking out all of the lyrics, all I needed to do was keyframe opacity, position, and rotation accordingly for each word. Occasionally I would ease in keyframes and then edit the velocity in the graph editor, to make the animation more smooth. This task took me quite a while as I had to keyframe every individual word of the animation. If I were to undertake a similar project in the future, I would look for a way to streamline the workflow, to make the task less monotonous.
